The API is there when you want to build your own channels, apps or data flows. **How do our systems stay in sync without polling?** Subscribe to the events you need and have them delivered to a webhook, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ. Each subscription has its own filter and endpoint, so different systems get only what they need. **Can we use our data in Power BI?** Yes. Besides the API, your data is available through Azure Table Storage and Kibana. Connect Power BI or your own tools to build the dashboards and reports you need. **How do we get API access?** Contact UtilityCloud support or your contact person with the tenant, environment and integration scenario. You register the client in your own Microsoft Entra ID, and we configure its client ID. Never send us client secrets. **Is there a test environment?** Yes. Staging runs separately from production, with its own client, so you can test authentication, access rights, payloads and business flows first. **Where is the API documentation?** In the developer portal at developer.utilitycloud.app, with guides and the full reference, and in Swagger at swagger.utilitycloud.app. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/automation ## Fully automated processes From the first signup to the final bookkeeping entry, UtilityCloud runs your energy retail processes on its own. Your team only handles the deviations. Hafslund Celsio: −45% total service costs, less complexity, automated billing and settlement, and faster time to market. ### Thousands of tasks a day. A handful for your team. Signups, settlement, invoices and payments run through UtilityCloud on their own. When something doesn’t fit your rules, it is set aside for your team, with what they need to fix it. Automation rates: invoicing 99.84% and payment processing 99.82%. #### One place for all deviations Whatever UtilityCloud can’t settle on its own lands on one board, sorted by status (Open, In Progress, Resolved) and area (market integration, CRM, contract, settlement, invoice and ledger), with the details your team needs to resolve it. Examples: a start of supply rejected by the market, an invalid mobile number, a failed customer creation, missing meter values and a rejected e-invoice. ### From signup to active contract Every new customer is set up without anyone touching the case. The credit check, signing, order confirmation and supplier switch all happen on their own: the offer is sent for signing, the customer signs with BankID, the contract is created, an order confirmation goes out by email, the start of supply is requested from the data hub (Elhub in Norway), and the contract turns active on the start date. - Automated signup from any channel - Fully integrated with CRM systems ### Automated billing cycle Every day, settlement prices the meter values from the data hub by each contract’s product. The invoice lines go to the customer’s invoice collections, and review rules check each one before an invoice is made. What passes is invoiced, sent and followed up. What doesn’t is held. - Settlement: meter values from the data hub are priced by the product formula of each contract (for example spot price × kWh, a markup per kWh and a monthly fee). - Invoice collection: a customer can have several invoice collections, each with one or more contracts, to group or split invoices. - Review: rules hold an invoice when, for example, lines for another contract are missing, grid fees are not imported, consumption is above a threshold or the invoice address is invalid. - Invoice: the invoice is created, distributed and followed up automatically. ### Automated collection and follow-up Payments are matched to invoices as soon as the bank file arrives: first on the KID, then on the payer’s bank account, name, amount and the text on the payment. Each match is posted to the ledger. What can’t be matched comes with suggested invoices for your team to confirm, pay back or hide. UtilityCloud reads camt.054 files from DNB, Danske Bank and Nordea, and BgMax files from Bankgirot. ### Overdue invoices follow your rules Set the steps for private and business customers, or for a tag. Every morning UtilityCloud checks each overdue invoice and takes the next step. A payment agreement or a stop on the invoice pauses it, and invoices ready for debt collection are handed to your debt collection partner. - Alerts by SMS or email - Reminders with a fixed or amount-based fee - Debt collection from the amount you set - Small balances written off or added to the next invoice ### Not sure how to fix it? Ask Wattson. Your team won’t know every rule behind every deviation. Wattson reads the case, explains why it stopped and gives the next steps. Pick one, and it is done. - Explains in plain language why a case failed - Suggests next steps, with the sources behind them - Carries out the step you choose ### Frequently asked #### What does UtilityCloud automate in energy retail? The whole chain from signup to bookkeeping: credit check, signing, contract and start of supply, daily settlement of meter values, invoice lines from each product’s price formula, invoice review, invoicing and distribution, payment matching and overdue follow-up. Your team only handles the deviations. #### How does UtilityCloud match incoming payments to invoices? First on the KID. When a payment has no usable KID, UtilityCloud tries the payer’s bank account from earlier payments, the payer’s name, the amount, payment agreements and invoice or customer numbers in the payment text. Payments it can’t match are held on the account for unmatched payments with suggested matches, and your team can match, pay back or hide them. #### Which banks and bank files does UtilityCloud support? UtilityCloud reads incoming payments as camt.054 files from DNB, Danske Bank and Nordea, and Bankgiro payment files (BgMax) from Bankgirot in Sweden. Refunds go back to the payer’s account. #### When is an invoice held instead of sent? Before an invoice is made, review rules check the invoice collection. It is held when, for example, invoice lines for another contract are still missing, grid fees are not imported yet, consumption is above your threshold or the invoice address is invalid. Everything else is invoiced and sent automatically. #### What happens when an invoice is not paid? Your overdue rules take over. Every morning UtilityCloud checks each overdue invoice and takes the next step: an alert by SMS or email, reminders with a fixed or amount-based fee, and debt collection from the amount you set. Small balances can be written off or added to the next invoice, and a payment agreement pauses the follow-up. Rules can differ for private and business customers or by tag. #### What is a deviation, and who handles it? A deviation is a case UtilityCloud can’t settle on its own, such as a start of supply rejected by the market, an invalid mobile number, missing meter values or a rejected e-invoice. Each one lands on the deviation board, sorted by status and area, with the details your team needs. Wattson explains why it stopped and suggests the next steps. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/api ## API-first headless CIS for energy retail Everything you can do in UtilityCloud, you can do through the API. Build your own apps, sales flows and integrations on the same CIS that runs your back office. ### What energy companies build on it Keep your own website, apps and portals. UtilityCloud runs customers, contracts, billing and collection behind them, through the API. #### Sell on your own website Online ordering in your own brand: list products (GET /v1/pm/products) and current prices (GET /se/v2/GetPriceInformation), create an offer with a sign request (POST /v1/cm/offers), the customer signs with BankID through the Idura signing plugin, and offer and contract events are forwarded to your Azure Service Bus. The signed offer continues into the flows you have configured, such as contract, market communication and billing. #### Run your own customer app My page in your brand, always in sync: customer and contract events update the app's own data the moment something changes, and the API carries out what the customer does, such as opening invoices, showing today's prices and switching product with a BankID signature. UtilityCloud also has its own My page and app, in your brand. #### Serve customers from your CRM The caller's number finds the customer (POST /v1/cm/customers/phone), then their invoice history, the invoice PDF and the invoice lines (GET /be/v3/invoice/...). Bodø Energi and Skandia Greenpower both run their own CRM on top of UtilityCloud. #### Bring meter values from your systems Send meter value time series (POST /v1/se/general-mv-adapter/CreateMeterValuesSeries) for values that do not come from a national data hub, such as district heating and EV charging. Settlement and rule-based invoicing pick them up automatically. Every area of the CIS has its own API, documented in one OpenAPI specification: Customers & sales, Products & pricing, Metering, Billing, Payments & collection, and Accounting & integrations. ### Subscribe to the events you need Your systems don't need to keep asking what changed. When a customer moves, a contract is signed or an invoice goes out, UtilityCloud sends an event straight away, by webhook, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ. Pick the events each system needs and where they go. - Delivered to a webhook, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ - Filter on just the event types you need - As many subscriptions as you need, each with its own endpoint ### Your data, your dashboards The API is one way in. Your UtilityCloud data is also available in Azure Table Storage and Kibana, ready for Power BI or your own systems. - REST API: read and change any record when your app or system needs it. For apps, portals and actions. - Events: changes pushed to your webhook, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ as they happen. For keeping systems in sync. - Azure Table Storage: large datasets ready to load into your data warehouse and BI tools. For Power BI and data warehouses. - Kibana: search and analyse large datasets, such as consumption and production, in real time. For real-time analysis. Connect Power BI or your own tools to build the dashboards your team needs, and combine UtilityCloud data with the rest of your business. ### Chosen for the open APIs "It provides a flexible architecture with open APIs that we can easily integrate with our CRM and in-house applications, while delivering a high degree of automation that supports our low cost to serve." > Trond Wahlstrøm, CTO, Skandia Greenpower "We adopted UtilityCloud to move away from a closed, slow-moving and error-prone legacy system to an open, modular and API-first platform. This has made it significantly easier to integrate, add and replace surrounding systems as needed." > Ole Angellsen, Director, Bodø Energi ### From first token to production Access runs through your own Microsoft Entra ID with the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow, on a platform certified to ISO/IEC 27001. 1. Ask for access: tell your UtilityCloud contact which tenant and environment you need, and what you are building. 2. Register your client: create the app client in your own Entra ID. UtilityCloud configures its client ID, and the secret never leaves you. 3. Build in staging: check authentication, access rights, payloads and business flows before anything touches real customers. 4. Go live: switch to your production client. Same calls, production base URL. ### Start building with the UtilityCloud APIs The developer portal and Swagger have every endpoint, schema and event model. - Developer portal (https://developer.utilitycloud.app/): guides to authentication, environments and core concepts, and step-by-step common workflows - Swagger (https://swagger.utilitycloud.app/): the OpenAPI specification, with every endpoint, parameter and schema - Prebuilt integrations (https://utilitycloud.ai/plugins): plugins for CRM, ERP, invoice distribution, debt collection, credit check and data hubs ### Frequently asked **Do we need developers to use UtilityCloud?** No. UtilityCloud runs as a complete CIS with its own web client, My page and prebuilt integrations. The API is there when you want to build your own channels, apps or data flows. **Can UtilityCloud run as a headless CIS?** Yes. Keep your own website, apps and portals, and let UtilityCloud run customers, contracts, billing and collection behind them through the API. Events keep your own systems in sync. **How do our systems stay in sync without polling?** Customer, account, metering point, contact, contract, offer and product events are forwarded to an Azure Service Bus queue or topic in your own Azure subscription. Outbound webhooks report invoice and payment changes. **Where is the API documentation?** In the developer portal at developer.utilitycloud.app, with guides and the full reference, and in Swagger at swagger.utilitycloud.app. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/plugins ## Integrations & plugins Energy companies have different needs. There is strong demand in the energy market for smart digital solutions. UtilityCloud is an ecosystem where your services reach many energy companies and end customers through secure and user-friendly interfaces. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/about-us ## A purpose-built energy retail platform, designed for a market that never stands still UtilityCloud is a “born in the cloud” energy retail platform built for electricity retailers, district heating companies, and EV charging providers across the Nordics and Europe. We help energy retailers reduce operational complexity, lower costs, and stay competitive as regulation, margins, and customer expectations continue to shift. ### Founded in 2019. 30+ customers. Over one million households on the platform. 2019 Founded in Norway by a team with deep roots in energy retail 30+ Energy companies running on UtilityCloud 1M+ Households billed through the platform ### Born in Norway, born in the cloud UtilityCloud was founded in 2019 by a team with deep roots in energy retail. We had seen first-hand how legacy systems were holding companies back: complex, expensive, and slow to adapt to constant market change. We set out to build something fundamentally different: a purpose-built platform rooted in deep energy market knowledge and modern software engineering. Not an ERP add-on. Not a billing module. A platform designed from the ground up for how energy retail actually works. Today, UtilityCloud processes billing for more than one million households and continues to expand across the Nordics and Europe, supporting energy retailers as they modernise and scale through continuous change. ### Nordic roots, European reach Our home market is the Nordics, with a strong presence in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. We are expanding into the Baltics and broader European markets where energy retailers face the same pressures: tightening regulation, shrinking margins, and the need to modernise core systems. Our platform already supports multi-market operations, handling different regulatory frameworks, settlement models, and market rules from a single instance. ### Long-term partnerships, not consulting projects We believe in configuration over customisation, low-risk migration, and a partnership model where our success depends on the success of our customers. UtilityCloud works closely with every client from implementation and beyond. Our Customer Success team stays involved throughout the lifecycle of the partnership, supporting operational changes, regulatory updates, and continuous optimisation of the platform. ### Meet the management team #### Pål Njølstad Chief Executive Officer #### Sara Rasmussen Chief Revenue Officer #### Johanne Smestad Chief Customer Success Officer #### Sigurd Seteklev Chief Product & Technology Officer #### Frank Ronny Johansen Founder & Chief Architect ### Want to work with us? We are always looking for great talent. See our open positions or send us an open application. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/how-bodo-energi-reduced-costs-by-20-with-utilityclouds-modular-platform ## How Bodø Energi Reduced Costs by 20% with UtilityCloud’s Modular Platform 31 July 2026 Case study Bodø Energi modernized its customer management and billing operations with UtilityCloud, replacing a closed legacy system with an open, modular, and API-first platform. The transformation reduced invoicing errors, increased automation and flexibility, and contributed to an approximately 20% reduction in operating costs. ### Background Bodø Energi is a Norwegian energy company providing electricity retail, EV and shore-power charging, and district heating services. As the company modernized its operations, its legacy CIS and billing system became a growing limitation: closed, difficult to integrate, and prone to invoicing errors and manual processes. To support a more flexible and future-ready operating model, Bodø Energi selected UtilityCloud as its new core platform for customer information management and billing. ### Approach UtilityCloud provided Bodø Energi with an open, modular, API-first platform that enabled the company to integrate with — and flexibly replace — surrounding systems across its retail operations, something that had not been possible with its previous legacy setup. As part of its modernization journey, Bodø Energi implemented a CRM system for customer communication and integrated it with UtilityCloud’s platform. This enabled the company to leverage best-of-breed systems for marketing and sales (CRM), while UtilityCloud supports customer management and billing. We adopted UtilityCloud to move away from a closed, slow-moving and error-prone legacy system to an open, modular and API-first platform. This has made it significantly easier to integrate, add and replace surrounding systems as needed. The result was a 45% reduction in total service costs, increased automation, and full control over customer data, products, and billing processes. ### Background Hafslund Celsio is Norway’s largest district heating company. The company builds, owns, and operates district heating and district cooling networks in Oslo. In 2025, Hafslund Celsio delivered approximately 1.8 TWh of district heating to around 200,000 customers within its concession area, representing about 30 percent of Oslo’s total heating energy consumption. Hafslund Celsio was previously part of a vertically integrated energy group alongside the regional electricity distribution system operator, now known as Elvia. With the introduction of regulatory requirements for legal, functional, and operational unbundling in Norway from 1 January 2021, the entities were required to establish full independence across governance, operations, and IT systems. Historically, Hafslund Celsio managed its customer information and billing through a shared service provider using a single-tenant, on-premise legacy system. This setup created several challenges, including high costs, slow time-to-market (as new products had to be delivered as consulting projects), operational errors, and limited control over data, which constrained analytics capabilities and internal development. ### Approach To meet the new regulatory requirements and modernize its technology stack, Hafslund Celsio conducted an extensive RFP process. The company selected UtilityCloud as its provider for customer information management and billing, based on its modern cloud-native technology stack, modular architecture, and lowest overall cost to serve. As part of the transformation, Hafslund Celsio insourced its customer information management and billing operations. This included migrating its entire customer base from the legacy system to UtilityCloud and training members of the customer service team to manage products and customers, as well as overseeing the platform’s automated settlement and billing processes. All products and contracts were configured directly within UtilityCloud. In addition, integrations were established with the CRM system, invoice distribution providers, and banking partners to maximize automation and enable seamless end-to-end processes. UtilityCloud has given us full control of billing and settlement, while reducing cost, complexity, and time-to-market through automation > Mbark El Anbri, Manager of Product and Billing, Hafslund Celsio ### Results Hafslund Celsio successfully insourced its entire customer management and billing operation without adding additional resources and achieving a 45% reduction in service costs, including both outsourced system and personnel components. These improvements were driven by the platform’s high level of automation and modular architecture, enabling seamless integration with CRM, invoice distribution, and banking systems. In addition, UtilityCloud has provided Hafslund Celsio with significantly improved data ownership and data quality, including direct access to key operational data through open APIs and reporting tools. This has enabled more effective analysis and better-informed decision-making. Product and customer management processes have also become more efficient, with fewer errors in the launch and modification of products, services, and tariffs. Hafslund Celsio can now manage changes directly without relying on third-party consultants, making it faster and easier to introduce new products, update existing offerings, and manage customer contracts. After implementing UtilityCloud, we can manage customers, products, and changes directly without relying on 3rd party consultants, with better data and more efficient workflows. > Anna Medle, Head of Customer Experience, Hafslund Celsio Total service costs System and personnel costs −45 % Legacy system UtilityCloud --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/how-eviny-termo-went-live-with-utilitycloud-in-just-3-months-and-cut-new-product-launch-times-from-weeks-to-hours ## How Eviny Termo implemented UtilityCloud in just 3 months and launched new products in hours, not weeks 1 June 2026 Case study Eviny Termo, one of Norway’s largest district heating providers, successfully went live with UtilityCloud in just three months, transforming its customer management and billing operations. By replacing legacy processes with a modern, API-first platform, the company increased automation, improved operational visibility, and reduced the time required to launch new products from weeks to hours. Eviny Termo is the third-largest district heating provider in Norway, delivering approximately 350 GWh of district heating annually across the Bergen and Førde regions. The company supplies renewable heating to residential buildings, offices, schools, hospitals, and public infrastructure, largely based on renewable and recovered energy sources. As part of a broader modernization journey, Eviny Termo sought more scalable and flexible systems to support customer management, billing, and operational integration. The company was looking for a modern platform with modular architecture, open APIs capable of efficiently exchanging information with surrounding systems, and intuitive functionality that would enable greater self-service and operational efficiency. ### Approach Eviny conducted a thorough RFP process and selected UtilityCloud from a range of potential providers. UtilityCloud was chosen not only for its functional capabilities, but even more so for Eviny’s confidence in UtilityCloud’s commitment to supporting district heating requirements and acting as a strong long-term partner — proactively helping recommend improvements to both operations and supporting systems. The implementation project was carried out efficiently, with the system fully operational within just three months and the first invoicing completed only four months after project start. The project included system configuration tailored to district heating requirements, integration between UtilityCloud and the Meter Data Management (MDM) system, product setup, testing, and migration. The intensive project was completed according to plan and timeline, and during the first invoicing cycle, all invoices were successfully issued within the very first week. Training was provided to customer service teams covering customer management, product configuration, and invoicing processes. Importantly, the system supports a high degree of automation by default, with settlement, invoice generation, and invoice distribution handled automatically, while manual intervention is only required when pre-configured validation or control rules are triggered. In addition, finance and accounting teams were trained in accounts receivable management, monitoring and validation of accounting transactions, reconciliation processes, reporting, and follow-up of postings transferred from UtilityCloud to the ERP and accounting systems. After evaluating multiple alternatives, we selected UtilityCloud as the best provider for district heating customer management and billing. Beyond modern technology and open APIs, we wanted a partner committed to understanding district heating and helping us improve how we work and operate going forward. > Sunniva Oppedal, Head of Commercial, Eviny Termo UtilityCloud is easy and intuitive to use, and has given us much better visibility into bookkeeping, settlement, and accounts receivables. Our finance team can now access information, reports, and make corrections directly in the system, without relying on custom report requests or specialist users. > Nellie Knutsson, Finance Manager, Eviny Termo ### Results The implementation of UtilityCloud has provided Eviny Termo with a modern, flexible, and user-friendly platform supporting its core customer management and billing operations for district heating. Key outcomes include: - Modern and intuitive platform supporting efficient customer management and billing processes for district heating operations - Modular architecture enabling live integration with surrounding systems, increasing automation, reducing manual work, and lowering operational costs - Full API access providing direct access to operational data and reporting, improving transparency, insights, and decision-making capabilities - Effective onboarding and migration delivered according to plan and timeline, with the system live in 3 months, first invoicing completed just 4 months after project start, and all invoices issued within 1 working week - Greater self-service capabilities enabling Eviny Termo to build and configure new products internally, reducing dependency on consultants and significantly shortening time-to-market for new offerings by up to several weeks “With UtilityCloud, we can configure and launch new products much faster and with far greater independence than before. The platform gives us the flexibility to innovate, adapt, and support future growth without relying heavily on external consultants.” > Øystein Haaland, CEO, Eviny Termo --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/sgp-grew-3x-while-reducing-operational-costs-by-70-with-utilitycloud ## Skandia Greenpower grew ~3x while reducing operational costs by 70% with UtilityCloud 12 May 2026 Case study Following a strategic transformation initiated in 2023, Skandia Greenpower partnered with UtilityCloud to modernize its technology stack, automate core operations, and consolidate multiple brands onto a single scalable platform. As a result, SGP nearly tripled its customer base while reducing operational costs by approximately 70%, creating one of the most efficient operating models in the Nordic energy retail market. Skandia Greenpower (SGP) is a Norwegian energy group operating a portfolio of consumer-facing power brands, including Skandia Energi, Saga, and Motkraft, delivering electricity and related services to the retail market. Following a change of control in early 2023, led by CEO Tommie Rudi and a group of investors, Skandia Greenpower embarked on a transformation journey to build a scalable, efficient, and digitally driven energy retailer. At the time of acquisition, the company operated with approximately 45 employees, of which 10 in customer support and back-office, relied on legacy systems and manual processes to operate one brand of ~22 000 meter points. To support its long-term growth ambitions and improve operational efficiency, the company made a strategic decision to execute a growth strategy combining organic expansion and M&A, while significantly streamlining its operating model and modernizing its technology stack. ### Approach To enable this transformation, Skandia Greenpower selected UtilityCloud as its core platform for customer information management and billing. The implementation of UtilityCloud became a key enabler for consolidating and harmonizing operations across all three brands (acquired over time) onto a single, scalable platform. This enabled the company to standardize processes, reduce system complexity, and establish a unified data foundation. “We selected UtilityCloud because we see it as the best platform for energy retail. It provides a flexible architecture with open APIs that we can easily integrate with our CRM and in-house applications, while delivering a high degree of automation that supports our low cost to serve. We are confident we can grow our business to >100,000 meter points with the same platform and setup.” > Trond Wahlstrøm, CTO, Skandia Greenpower ### As part of the transition - All brands were migrated onto UtilityCloud, creating a single operational backbone - The company integrated UtilityCloud with internally developed applications and CRM capabilities to support differentiated customer experiences - End-to-end processes, including customer onboarding, billing, and settlement, were highly automated through platform capabilities and integrations - UtilityCloud’s WebOrder functionality was deployed to drive digital sales, while ensuring full compliance with Elhub’s recent digital consent requirements At the same time, Skandia Greenpower undertook a major organizational restructuring, reducing its workforce from approximately 45 employees to just 5, with only 3 FTEs dedicated to customer service and back-office operations. “Changing our core system was a big decision, but UtilityCloud delivered a highly professional onboarding and implementation. They have supported us with 3 migrations, and all have them have been executed in less than 1 month. Having now operated on the platform for some time, we’re confident we made the right choice.” > Tommie Rudi, CEO, Skandia Greenpower Meter points per support FTE Meter points, 000s / support FTEs >8 x Legacy systemsUtilityCloud Meter points, 000s22k54k Number of support FTEs¹103 Number of brands13 2.2k Legacy systems 18k UtilityCloud ¹ FTE: Full-Time Equivalent, includes Customer Service and Back-office ### Results The implementation of UtilityCloud enabled Skandia Greenpower to combine strong growth with a highly efficient operating model: - Growth from ~22,000 to ~54,000 metering points 2023-2026, driven by both M&A and organic sales. - Operations run with just 3 FTEs in customer service and back office. - Fully harmonized multi-brand setup on a single platform. - Effective onboarding and migrations: initial onboarding of first two brands executed in 3 weeks, final brand migrated in 1 month's time. - High degree of automation across billing, settlement, and customer processes. - Modern, flexible tech stack supporting continued digital growth. - Migrating to UtilityCloud has reduced Total Cost of Ownership by almost 50% and cost per meter point by close to 80% The result is a lean, scalable organization with one of the lowest cost-to-serve models in the market at ~18 000 meter points per customer service and back-office FTE. Sounds unnecessary, doesn’t it? After all, a charging station is just another type of power outlet—with a meter and connectivity. Wouldn’t it make sense to plug your existing platform into this new, but very similar, value chain that you’re already operating in? Of course, it does. And that’s exactly what the partnership between eMabler and UtilityCloud is all about. Since its launch in 2019, UtilityCloud has become a key player in the Nordic energy market, helping energy retailers streamline operations, billing, and customer management. Now, through its partnership with eMabler, UtilityCloud is making EV charging a seamless extension of energy services—without the need for separate systems or complex integrations. ### The Challenge: Expanding into EV Charging Without Complexity For energy retailers, adding EV charging has traditionally been a costly and complex process. Instead of integrating charging into their existing energy services, they’ve had to adopt entirely new billing systems and separate operational workflows—leading to inefficiencies, increased costs, and barriers to entry. Yet, a charging station is ultimately just another metered energy service. It should be as simple to integrate as any other power supply. ### Seamless Integration for Energy Retailers Through the eMabler & UtilityCloud partnership, energy retailers can now offer EV charging as a natural extension of their energy services—without extra hassle. Rather than building a new standalone system, UtilityCloud customers can: - Manage EV charging within existing workflows, keeping processes familiar and efficient. - Automate billing, customer onboarding, and charging data, ensuring everything runs smoothly within the same platform. - Scale operations effortlessly, expanding into EV charging without added complexity. With eMabler managing charge points and UtilityCloud handling customer relationships and billing, energy retailers get a streamlined, future-ready solution. “By partnering with eMabler, every energy retail company that operates on UtilityCloud’s platform is now able to offer eMobility services to their end customers right out-of-the-box.” - Erik Wangen, Co-Founder & CCO of UtilityCloud ### Why This Partnership Matters This collaboration simplifies EV charging for energy retailers, turning it into a natural part of their service portfolio. Instead of navigating separate systems, companies can future-proof their business by integrating EV charging alongside traditional energy services—ensuring long-term growth and efficiency. By eliminating these barriers, the eMabler & UtilityCloud partnership ensures a scalable model that adapts to evolving market needs. Energy companies can expand their offerings while providing customers with a seamless and unified experience for both electricity and EV charging. ### EV Charging Without Barriers With eMabler and UtilityCloud, energy retailers can expand into EV charging without disruption. With this partnership, energy retailers gain a competitive edge. By integrating EV charging into their existing services, they can increase customer retention, open new revenue streams, and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. We have had a chat with them to hear how they have managed to increase customer satisfaction through the electricity crisis, and how an ERP integration has helped them with liquidity. NEAS is Central Norway's largest company in both energy and broadband, but offering more services can present challenges. They found that it was demanding to provide fast customer service and offer good digital customer experiences when there were many subjects and support systems to deal with. In 2018, NEAS implemented Salesforce for the call center and the sales and marketing department, and set itself the goal of being able to solve 70% of all customer cases at first contact. This meant that customer representatives had to solve the case without leaving Salesforce while they were in dialogue with the customer. Processing of the electricity customers, on the other hand, took place in a different professional system, and it proved difficult to integrate the CRM system. For the customer handlers, everyday work consisted of many windows and case processing in several professional systems. But with the help of UtilityCloud, they achieved their goal overnight. - For us in the customer center it became a new everyday life. There are fewer key clicks, and when we talk to the customers we can easily see whether they are customers or not, and what agreement they have with us, says manager of the customer center Annicken Hjelle. With UtilityCloud, they quickly gain insight and can see which outstanding invoices have not been settled, which leads to simple and good case management. It is also faster to train new employees at the customer center when the system is simpler. ### More inquiries In line with the increased focus on electricity prices recently, there are also more customer enquiries, but despite more enquiries, there is great customer satisfaction in NEAS: - According to the customer surveys carried out in December and January, two out of three cases are resolved on the first call at NEAS's customer centre, says Hjelle. According to the survey, the company has a score of 5.5 out of 6 on customer satisfaction. The customer gets quick answers and can find back to history in the customer app itself. An app that has an average of 2,500 daily users. ### Integration with resource planning system NEAS is a group of companies that includes power production, power sales, power supply, delivery of Internet and TV services on broadband technology, and electrical services through ownership in West Elektro. In 2020, they implemented Microsoft Dynamics Business Central as a new ERP system, and during 2023 all companies in the NEAS group have integrated into the same ERP system. Through UtilityCloud's solution, they moved the ledger from the previous KIS system into the new EPR system, where there is now an elegant integration between UtilityCloud and ERP. The new solution gives the customer the opportunity to choose whether they want broadband and energy services on the same invoice. -This setup made possible through UtilityCloud works very well. Now the ERP is updated in real time, which provides a completely different liquidity management and control, says department manager for technology and digitization Alf Haltbakk Solbjør. The accounts department now receives a more detailed account with through-invoicing from online rental and broadband. -Before, the invoicing was divided into broken pieces and it was more manual work, but now we just press a button and the whole process goes from A to Z, says Monica Kulø, responsible for billing. ### Solution-oriented cooperation All in all, NEAS is very satisfied with the collaboration with UtilityCloud: -We have perceived UtilityCloud to be very responsive in relation to our needs. Things have happened quickly in product development, and together we have found solutions that work, says Solbjør. - These are people who know the industry and know the challenges we face. It has been reassuring that they know what they are doing and have a good idea, adds Hjelle. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/2025-in-customer-review-15x-faster-growth-and-35-lower-churn ## 2025 in Review: 15x Faster Growth and 35% Lower Churn for our Customers 21 April 2026 UtilityCloud customers are significantly outperforming the Nordic energy market—growing over 15 times faster while reducing churn by 35%. These results highlight how a new generation of energy retailers is winning through innovation, agility, and stronger customer relationships. At UtilityCloud, we believe that our success is defined by the success of our customers. Today, we’re proud to share a powerful update from 2025 that highlights just how strongly our customers are performing in an increasingly competitive and complex energy market. The results speak for themselves: UtilityCloud customers are growing more than 15 times faster than the market, while achieving 35% lower churn. ### Outgrowing the market In 2025, while the Nordic energy market saw modest growth of around 0.7%, UtilityCloud customers achieved an average growth rate of approximately 12%. Even more impressively, 80% of our customers are outperforming the market. This level of performance reflects a fundamental shift. Energy retailers are no longer just competing on price—they are competing on experience, agility, and their ability to innovate quickly. Our customers are leading that shift. ### Stronger customer relationships Growth tells part of the story—but retention powers the rest. The strongest growth comes from customers who stay and continue to engage. UtilityCloud customers reported an average churn rate of 8.5%, compared to 13.4% in the broader market. That’s a 35% reduction in churn, with 70% of our customers outperforming market benchmarks. Lower churn is a direct reflection of stronger customer relationships, better products, and more relevant offerings. ### What’s driving this success? Behind these results are energy retailers that are moving faster, launching new products more frequently, and engaging customers in smarter ways. A few key drivers stand out: 100% digital onboarding, reducing friction and accelerating time-to-value Short innovation cycles, enabled by rapid rollout of new products and services Flexible tariffs, aligning customer behavior with real-time energy production Data-driven insights, helping retailers continuously improve performance Together, these capabilities allow our customers to adapt quickly in a market shaped by the transition to renewable energy. ### UtilityCloud as a growth enabler We are incredibly proud of what our customers are achieving. Their success is the result of bold strategies, strong execution, and a willingness to rethink how energy services are delivered. At the same time, we’re honored to play a role in enabling that success. UtilityCloud is built to help energy retailers scale—faster, smarter, and more efficiently. By providing a robust, flexible platform tailored to one of the most advanced energy markets in the world, we empower our customers to innovate, reduce costs, and deliver better experiences to end users. ### Looking ahead The energy transition is accelerating, and the demands on energy providers are only increasing. To all our customers: congratulations on your outstanding performance. We’re excited to continue this journey together—and to support even greater growth in the years to come. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/why-utilitycloud-leads-in-migration-and-delivery-projects ## Why UtilityCloud Leads in Migration and Delivery Projects 24 September 2025 Danijela Hagblom, Marketing Manager at UtilityCloud For energy retailers, a migration project is never “just IT.” It’s the backbone of how you bill, serve, and grow your customer base. A misstep during migration can mean regulatory breaches, delayed revenue, customer churn, and reputational damage. That’s why choosing the right partner is critical. At UtilityCloud, we’ve refined migration and delivery into a discipline. With deep industry expertise, proven methodology, and a relentless focus on risk management, we consistently deliver where others struggle. ### A Methodology Built for Energy Retail We start every project with a clear and structured assessment: What data sources exist, and what’s their quality? Which roles and responsibilities sit where? What’s the realistic timetable, and where are the risks? This upfront clarity removes uncertainty. For our clients, it means confidence that the project is built on predictable outcomes rather than best guesses. ### Batch-Based Migration — Reducing Risk, Building Momentum Our approach to migration is unique. Instead of pushing everything at once or relying on slow data hubs, we divide the process into 10–20 batches based on portfolio and scope. The early batches handle simpler contracts to prove stability and create momentum. Later batches deal with complex invoicing and large customer sets. This structure gives commercial teams early proof points, creates visible progress, and reduces the risk of major disruption. ### Putting Data Quality at the Centre Poor data quality is one of the biggest reasons CIS migrations fail. That’s why our tooling doesn’t just move data—it validates it, giving your teams immediate feedback and control. We actively involve your in-house experts. They know the nuances of your systems and customers, and with UtilityCloud’s framework, we can jointly identify and fix data issues before they impact delivery. The outcome: a cleaner database, a smoother go-live, and fewer surprises. ### Seamless Delivery Planning Migration is never an isolated track; it’s embedded in the full delivery plan. We align migrations to project milestones and use monthly go-live cycles to avoid business disruption. Every system is retested ahead of launch, so operations run reliably from day one. "We know the weeks after go-live are the most critical. That’s why we stay close, using APIs to resolve issues instantly with minimal disruption. We keep customer portfolios clean and export quality high, so compliance and customer confidence are never at risk." ### Faster, Safer, Proven Our competitors often skip direct migration or rely on outdated databases and poor testing. The result? Delays, bottlenecks, and frustrated commercial teams. UtilityCloud’s batch approach, proactive QA, and customer-centric tools mean our clients achieve faster delivery, reduced risk, and far greater business stability. #### The Bottom Line For energy retailers operating in deregulated, highly competitive, and finite markets, migration is not just technical execution—it’s strategic. With UtilityCloud, you get a partner who understands the stakes and has engineered a process to give you speed, clarity, and confidence from start to finish. --- Source: https://utilitycloud.ai/news/utilitycloud-has-successfully-obtained-iso-27001-certification ## UtilityCloud has successfully obtained ISO 27001 certification! 1 April 2024 We're thrilled to announce a significant milestone: UtilityCloud has achieved ISO 27001 certification.
